We are seeking an enthusiastic SALES REPRESENTATIVE to join our dynamic team. This position focuses on developing strong working relationships and generating new business opportunities with our partner distributors, commercial contractors, flooring contractors and installers, architects, and other influential stakeholders. Your success will be driven by job site visits, cold outreach, distributor training, and professional presentations, all while embodying the ARDEX solution-oriented, 'customer-first' philosophy.

This is a field-based sales role within our SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA team, with a primary focus on the GREATER LOS ANGELES area. Daily travel throughout the territory is essential, including occasional overnight stays. Experience in the industry and familiarity with the local market are crucial.

Compensation Structure: Potential earnings range from $70k to $120k, which includes a base salary, commission, and bonuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Growth: Actively develop and enhance sales of ARDEX and Henry products within your designated territory.
  • Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Product Promotion: Introduce and promote new products through hands-on demonstrations, presentations, and professional displays.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with partner distributors, specialized flooring/tiling contractors, general contractors, architects, and key business influencers.
  • Field Support: Deliver exceptional field service and support, including job start assistance, bid preparation, and training for distributors/installers.
  • Technical Recommendations: Provide technical insights and collaborate with our technical team for resources and solutions.
  • Action Planning: Create and implement effective field sales action plans.
  • Target Achievement: Meet and exceed sales targets, goals, and objectives set by the Sales Manager.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside corporate resources (Technical, Customer Service, Marketing, Logistics) to provide outstanding service to ARDEX customers.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold ARDEX's reputation as an industry leader through exceptional professional standards and a 'customer-first' approach.
Qualifications and Skills
  • At least 5 years of outside sales experience or equivalent knowledge of the building materials industry is required. Familiarity with flooring installation systems is a plus.
  • Technical proficiency and understanding of architectural specifications and construction design elements.
  • Strong business acumen, integrity, ethics, and sound professional judgment.
  • High energy and enthusiasm for the industry, with a solution-driven and customer-focused mindset.
  • Assertiveness and the ability to drive and close sales effectively.
  • Capability to conduct product presentations and demonstrations with confidence and professionalism.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential. Willingness to travel daily within the assigned territory, including some overnight stays.
  • Ability to operate both non-powered and powered tools, demonstrating good mechanical or hands-on skills to meet the demands of intensive field support.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, with a carrying capacity of 55 pounds.

Education
  • A four-year college degree is preferred, or a minimum of a completed high school diploma with relevant industry experience.
