Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Repair and Replacement: Troubleshoot and repair or replace equipment and appliances as needed, using your expertise to communicate with management and outside vendors.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of appliance parts and inventory, ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient operations.
- Construction and Repair: Build interior walls, fabricate cabinets and drawers, assemble furniture, and repair or replace closet doors, drawers, and other fixtures.
- Electrical and Plumbing: Repair or replace light bulbs, ballasts, switches, plugs, and light fixtures, as well as unclog drains and perform minor repairs on water heaters.
- Welding and Vehicle Maintenance: Perform light welding and light vehicle maintenance tasks, as well as assist with roof repairs and other utility work.
- Compliance and Safety: Promote an environment that fosters inclusive relationships and creates unbiased opportunities for contributions, upholding the principles of the USC Code of Ethics.
- Education: Specialized or technical training, or combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.
- Experience: At least 1 month of experience in a related field.
- Field of Expertise: Knowledge of thermodynamic laws, refrigerator cycles, electricity principles, test/detection instruments, hand/power tools, wood finishing, AC/DC currents, wiring, painting, construction, and plumbing.
- Driver's License: Valid CA driver's license required, with a clean DMV record.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Field of Expertise: Knowledge of all applicable safety procedures and precautions, with a clean DMV record.
