About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Trust and Security team. As a key member of this team, you'll play a critical role in designing and implementing robust security measures to protect our users' data and prevent malicious activities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining secure product features, platforms, and machine learning models to safeguard our community from account takeovers, phishing, objectionable content, spam, and other types of fraud and abuse.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Trust and Safety operations, to investigate new attack vectors, manage incidents, and improve internal tooling and automation.
  • Contributing to the vision and roadmaps for the Trust and Security team, articulating Notion's approach and philosophy on trust engineering.
Requirements

Nice to Have

While not required, experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

  • Trust and safety expertise, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles and experience in the areas of trust, safety, and user authentication.
  • Cross-functional collaboration, with a history of working effectively with trust and safety operations, legal, and other non-technical teams.
  • Proficiency in our technology stack, including React, TypeScript, Postgres, and Redis.
  • Startup mentality, with a willingness to navigate the fast-paced and dynamic nature of a hyper-growth company.
