About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Software Security Engineer to join our team at Databricks Inc. As a key member of our security engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our data and AI infrastructure platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure systems and architectures to protect our customers' data and prevent security threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks, and develop strategies to improve our overall security posture.
  • Develop and maintain secure coding practices and guidelines, and provide training and support to our engineering teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our security capabilities.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in data security or related areas, with expertise in two or more of the following: cryptography, Kubernetes security, web security, governance, privacy, trust, safety, authentication, identity management, access control, key management, inter-service authentication, secure application frameworks, detection & response.
  • 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
  • Leadership skills and experience to lead across functional and organizational lines.
  • Strong communication skills to explain and evangelize data security to senior leaders across the company.
  • Bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
  • MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
