About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead our Data Security efforts at Databricks Inc. As a key member of our Trust & Safety team, you will be responsible for creating and executing the vision for our security engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Engineering Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy to protect our customers' data and ensure the integrity of our platform.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers to design, build, and operate secure systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Operations, to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of our platform.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate security risks and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Staying Ahead: Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies, and adapt our security strategy accordingly.
Requirements
  • Experience: 9+ years of experience in Data Security or related areas, with expertise in two or more of the following: Cryptography, Kubernetes Security, Web Security, Governance, Privacy, Trust, Safety, Authentication, Identity Management, Access Control, Key Management, Inter-Service Authentication, Secure Application Frameworks, Detection & Response.
  • Leadership: 15+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with high availability, and leadership skills to lead across functional and organizational lines.
  • Education: MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
