Job Title: Director of Recruitment and Personnel

The International Leadership Charter High School is a high-performing college preparatory high school dedicated to providing an exceptional secondary school education to first- and second-generation students, graduating them college-ready. Our school implements an academically rigorous Regents and college-preparatory curriculum, elevating students' intellectual capacity and providing a superior high school education. We are the first community-grown charter high school in the Bronx.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Director of Recruitment and Personnel to design and implement recruiting strategies to hire dedicated, highly skilled, and qualified staff for our charter school. The successful candidate will assist in developing our staffing capacity for every academic and operational year to achieve our charter school goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build talent pipelines for current and future job openings.
  • Lead all sourcing strategies.
  • Manage external partnerships with colleges, job boards, and HR software vendors.
  • Implement online and offline charter school branding activities.
  • Prepare and review the annual recruitment budget.
  • Oversee all stages of candidate experience, including application, interviews, and communication.
  • Forecast hiring needs based on business growth plans.
  • Participate in and host recruitment events to drive awareness of our charter school.
  • Develop a network of potential future hires from college partnerships.
  • Measure key recruitment metrics, such as source of hire and time-to-hire.
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as a Director of Recruitment and Personnel or similar role.
  • Demonstrable experience managing full-cycle recruiting and employer branding initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of sourcing techniques and tools, such as social networks.
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs) and HR databases.
  • Good team-management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships with internal teams, external partners, and candidates.
  • A Bachelor's degree and/or Master's in Human Resources Management, Business, Education, or a relevant field.
  • Hold exceptionally high personal standards for performance and be a person of high moral character with well-developed emotional intelligence and an objective mindset.
  • Ability to accept feedback from executive leadership without taking it personally.
  • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize strategically.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with the CEO, school administrators, teachers, and community.
