Overview:


The Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist I utilizes advanced imaging technology to conduct non-invasive diagnostic tests and procedures, acquiring and analyzing critical patient data under moderate supervision.

This role involves thorough patient interviews and preparation, ensuring the safe and effective use of imaging equipment, which contributes to optimal patient care outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts and documents results of non-invasive echocardiographic diagnostic tests.
  • Verifies patient identity and fosters a safe, clean, and secure healthcare environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Interprets and transcribes imaging orders, collaborating with physicians when clarification is needed.
  • Engages with patients to gather comprehensive medical histories and assess risk factors that may necessitate further examination.
  • Selects suitable scanning protocols and imaging parameters based on extensive knowledge of human anatomy and the operational capabilities of imaging equipment.
  • Measures and records gradients using pressure readings obtained from Doppler ultrasound systems.
  • Documents and updates patient care records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS, RDCS) through CCI or ARDMS.
  • Completion of an accredited cardiovascular sonography program.
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Preferred:
  • Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS).
  • Familiarity with EPIC and CV-Synapse EMR systems.
