Key Responsibilities:
As an Echo Technician, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography on both adult and pediatric patients, adhering to established lab protocols and best practices. Your duties will include:
  • Reviewing inpatient requisitions and prioritizing patient lists based on the severity of illness and special requests.
  • Conducting quality control checks to ensure optimal imaging results.
  • Managing the procurement, storage, and routing of supplies necessary for room operations.
  • Downloading examination images and data into the PACS system.
  • Mentoring and evaluating ultrasound students as needed.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program in ultrasound or cardiovascular technology, or equivalent experience.

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A solid understanding of diagnostic ultrasound principles and methodologies.
  • The ability to customize exams by incorporating additional images as necessary.
  • Knowledge of cardiac structures from various viewing angles.
  • Expertise in ultrasound physics and instrumentation to identify and mitigate artifacts while optimizing images.
  • Proficiency in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting cardiovascular equipment.

Additionally, current certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required, or certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
