UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in the Diagnostic Radiology department. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and perform radiological imaging procedures in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting.
- Read and comprehend imaging orders, engaging with physicians when orders are unclear, complex, or warrant deeper review. Select appropriate scanning protocols and imaging parameters using knowledge of human anatomy.
- Interview patients to understand risk factors that may warrant a more in-depth examination for safety.
- Upload imaging results into Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and record information into Electronic Medical Recordkeeping (EMR) system.
- Facilitate office visits and gather patient information as needed.
- Perform a range of clinical tasks to support a cross-functional clinical team, including Medical Assistants, Paramedics, and RNs.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Science.
- Registration as Radiological Technologist from American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists.
- Good understanding of human anatomy, established through education or experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting radiology orders.
- Experience using point-of-care-testing platforms.
- Experience working with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Experience working in a clinical practice.
- Current Medical Assistant certification.
- Experience working with EPIC.
