Role Overview

We are on the lookout for an individual who is passionate about innovation and technology, possessing a solid background in mechanical manufacturing and electromechanical design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage deeply with the design, operation, and maintenance of our aircraft.
  • Gain practical experience with various aircraft subsystems.
  • Provide mentorship and training to fellow flight test personnel regarding industry standards and company protocols.
  • Collaborate with the team to formulate test plans and manage logistics.
  • Lead UAV and human flight testing initiatives, with potential travel requirements.
  • Examine aircraft electronics and components for operational reliability and performance issues.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade systems as necessary.
  • Propose and implement design and process enhancements to scale operations effectively.
  • Establish procedures for documenting findings, test results, and quality or safety concerns.
  • Ensure the aircraft fleet, team, and testing locations are always flight-ready.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering capacity.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • A strong grasp of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering principles, particularly in mechanical design, robotics, mechatronics, dynamics, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in solid-modeling CAD software (preferably 3DX) and 2D documentation.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience through academic projects, internships, or personal endeavors.
  • A proven track record of leading teams and successfully managing tasks in complex, cross-functional environments with a focus on safety.
  • Experience applying rigorous scientific methods for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Comfort with data management and documentation.
  • Strong written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Familiarity with electronics, batteries, motors, sensors, and composites utilized in UAVs.
  • Advanced skills in Google Sheets or MS Excel.
  • An interest in remote-controlled aircraft, quadcopters, or aviation.
