In this position, you will spearhead the development, leadership, and maintenance of system requirements and reliability initiatives in partnership with engineering leads. Your role will involve seamless collaboration across various departments, leveraging your extensive knowledge of systems engineering to propel the advancement of intricate systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct reliability assessments and failure analyses while directing qualification efforts for product introductions.
- Work closely with engineering teams to evaluate product reliability, utilizing insights to boost performance and guide the reliability of new offerings.
- Design and validate system requirements and verification matrices specifically for eVTOL vehicles.
- Oversee the validation and documentation of both system and subsystem-level requirements.
- Manage the traceability and evolution of requirements throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Assess system performance thresholds and provide strategic guidance.
- Contribute to the development of models and conduct simulation analyses.
- Effectively review and interpret customer specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Identify, analyze, and rectify weaknesses in system design.
- Influence the future product development by contributing to the architectural framework utilized across multiple systems.
- Establish and lead a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) process that incorporates continuous learning into functional requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers on compliance assessments, system interface definitions, and related requirements.
- Ensure that any gaps in verification and validation plans are promptly addressed while maintaining project timelines.
- Engage with the testing team to formulate comprehensive verification and validation (V&V) test plans that encompass all requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in a systems development environment, including requirements development, FMEA, compliance standards, and V&V test planning.
- 5+ years of combined experience in reliability and systems engineering, or aerospace engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to manage requirements traceability and evolution throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Experience in providing effective weekly status updates on system development progress, including requirements burn down.
- Proficient in developing system test plans, procedures, and reports, with the capability to review and interpret specifications.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, prioritizing team success over individual interests.
