Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in overseeing the launch and operational phases of our satellite systems. As a key member of our Formation Flight Team, you will engage in the intricate processes of deploying and managing our fleet of low Earth orbit satellites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the operations authority during mission preparations, ensuring seamless integration of our systems.
  • Design and implement comprehensive pre-launch verification and validation campaigns for our satellites.
  • Facilitate coordination among internal teams and external partners, including ground station operators and launch service providers.
  • Develop operational scenarios for our satellite constellation.
  • Create mission strategies and operational protocols in collaboration with the Formation Flight Team.
  • Conduct trade studies on orbital positioning and maneuvers to optimize satellite coverage.
  • Execute targeted operations utilizing multiple space-based sensors following satellite deployment.
QualificationsBasic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering testing, integration, or flight operations.
  • Experience in real-time operations within safety-critical environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts independently.
  • High self-motivation and accountability.
  • Effective project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or Matlab.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of spacecraft systems and operational protocols.
  • Advanced understanding of orbital mechanics and mission planning.
  • Experience in supplier-facing roles, managing design requirements and verification processes.
  • Collaborative experience in interdisciplinary teams to tackle complex challenges.
  • Background in avionics, flight control software, communication systems, or orbital dynamics.
