Principal Spacecraft Systems Engineer

Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful deployment and operation of our satellite constellation. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance our capabilities in satellite technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as the operations authority during mission preparations, providing expert guidance on our systems.
- Design and implement verification and validation campaigns for our satellite fleet.
- Coordinate operational activities with internal teams and external partners, including ground station operators and launch service providers.
- Simulate tasking scenarios for our satellite network.
- Develop comprehensive mission plans and operational protocols in collaboration with the Formation Flight Team.
- Conduct trade studies on orbital positioning and maneuvers to optimize satellite coverage.
- Execute targeted operations with multiple space-based sensors following launch.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering testing, integration, or flight operations.
- Experience in real-time operations within safety-critical environments.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts independently.
- High self-motivation and accountability.
- Proficient in project and time management, capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or Matlab.
- Master's degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of spacecraft systems and operations.
- Advanced understanding of orbital mechanics and mission planning.
- Experience in supplier-facing roles, managing design requirements and verification processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to address complex challenges.
- Experience in avionics, flight control software, communication systems, or orbital dynamics.
