Position Overview

We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Manufacturing Engineer to become part of our team, concentrating on high-speed modular home production. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and enhancement of manufacturing processes aimed at boosting efficiency, improving product quality, and minimizing costs. This position demands technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Development and Enhancement: Create, develop, and refine high-speed manufacturing processes for modular home production to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead continuous improvement projects utilizing lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and implement process enhancements.
  • Project Management: Oversee and execute engineering projects from conception to realization, ensuring timely completion, budget compliance, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise to resolve manufacturing challenges and ensure seamless production operations.
  • Equipment and Tooling: Design, specify, and acquire manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures tailored to the requirements of high-speed modular home production.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish and uphold quality control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Educate and mentor junior engineers and production personnel on best practices and emerging technologies in high-speed modular home manufacturing.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to safety regulations and company policies, fostering a safe working environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless integration of new products into the production workflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and project management in high-speed modular home manufacturing or a comparable fast-paced industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, machining, and testing specific to high-speed modular home production.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and experience with manufacturing simulation tools.
  • A solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data to inform decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver results on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to high-speed modular home manufacturing.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000 annually, with the final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location.
