Position Summary
We are looking for a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team, concentrating on high-speed modular home production. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving product quality, and minimizing costs. This role demands technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and collaborate with diverse teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Development and Optimization: Create, refine, and enhance high-speed manufacturing processes for modular home production to boost efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement: Spearhead continuous improvement projects utilizing lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and enact process enhancements.
- Project Management: Oversee and execute engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards.
- Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise to resolve manufacturing challenges and ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Equipment and Tooling: Design, specify, and acquire manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures tailored to the demands of high-speed modular home production.
- Documentation: Develop and sustain comprehensive process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish and uphold quality control systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Mentorship: Educate and mentor junior engineers and production personnel on best practices and emerging technologies in high-speed modular home manufacturing.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes align with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a safe working environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless integration of new products into the production workflow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, emphasizing process improvement and project management in high-speed modular home manufacturing or a comparable fast-paced industry.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, machining, and testing specific to high-speed modular home production.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with manufacturing simulation tools.
- Strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data to inform decision-making.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on schedule and within budget.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is advantageous.
- Awareness of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to high-speed modular home manufacturing.
