Position Summary

We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Manufacturing Engineer to become a vital part of our team, concentrating on high-speed modular home production. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving product quality, and minimizing costs. This position demands technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Development and Optimization: Design and refine high-speed manufacturing processes for modular home production to boost efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead continuous improvement projects utilizing lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and enact process enhancements.
  • Project Management: Oversee and execute engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise to resolve manufacturing challenges and ensure uninterrupted production operations.
  • Equipment and Tooling: Design, specify, and acquire manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures tailored to the requirements of high-speed modular home production.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish and uphold quality control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Educate and mentor junior engineers and production personnel on best practices and emerging technologies in high-speed modular home manufacturing.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to safety regulations and company policies, fostering a safe working environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless integration of new products into the production workflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and project management in high-speed modular home manufacturing or a comparable fast-paced industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, machining, and testing specific to high-speed modular home production.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data to inform decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering collaboration in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver results on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements pertinent to high-speed modular home manufacturing.
