Position Overview
The Production Process Optimization Engineer will report directly to the Quality Director and will concentrate on refining manufacturing processes to boost both yield and throughput. This role involves collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Equipment, and Manufacturing teams on both new product launches and enhancements to existing products.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and innovate manufacturing processes with a focus on yield and throughput.
- Design and execute experiments or qualifications necessary to substantiate process enhancements.
- Utilize statistical analysis of production data through tools like Excel to create reports and proposals aimed at improving production metrics.
- Support new product and process qualifications by leading trials, conducting tests, and compiling reports.
- Perform root cause analysis when process issues arise, define corrective actions, and implement revised processes with proper documentation and training.
- Collaborate with Development Engineering during the introduction of new products to assimilate new manufacturing methods and fixtures, followed by validating these processes for production.
- Engage in various special projects that support operational and engineering objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer in a high-volume production setting.
- Experience in product development and new product introduction is advantageous.
- Proven track record in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience in designing, executing, and reporting on trials aimed at enhancing yield and throughput.
- Familiarity with database systems for data extraction, formatting, analysis, and reporting of findings and recommendations.
*Base salary only. Salary is influenced by various factors including experience and location.
