Position Overview
In the role of Production Engineering Specialist at Veev, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our manufacturing workflows to achieve optimal efficiency, superior quality, and cost-effectiveness. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key in driving initiatives for continuous improvement and supporting the rollout of new product lines. Key Responsibilities
- Process Enhancement: Evaluate current manufacturing workflows to pinpoint opportunities for boosting efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
- Product Launch Support: Partner with product development teams to guarantee the manufacturability of new offerings, including design for manufacturability (DFM) assessments and process validation.
- Ongoing Improvement: Spearhead and assist in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to achieve operational excellence.
- Quality Management: Establish quality control protocols and ensure adherence to regulatory standards to uphold product quality and reliability.
- Manufacturing Assistance: Offer technical guidance to production teams, address challenges on the shop floor, and implement corrective measures to reduce downtime and enhance production efficiency.
- Documentation Development: Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Cost Evaluation: Perform cost analysis to uncover opportunities for cost reduction while preserving product integrity and quality.
- Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams to streamline operations, resolve technical challenges, and support supplier development efforts.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Experience: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with a solid grasp of production processes and equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), ERP systems, and manufacturing process simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Project Coordination: Proven capability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Continuous Improvement Certification: Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.
