Role Summary

As part of our team, you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of veterans by supporting our various programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the National Human Resources office to develop, document, and implement effective HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Facilitate employee training and orientation programs to ensure staff are well-prepared for their roles.
  • Assist in payroll administration, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and resolving discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the annual performance evaluation process to foster employee development.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state HR regulations and compliance standards.
  • Lead investigations into employee relations matters and recommend resolutions to management.
  • Provide guidance to managers on HR-related inquiries and employee management.
  • Consult with senior management on effective supervisory practices and strategies to improve employee retention.
  • Manage benefits enrollment for new hires and oversee annual open enrollment activities.
  • Support the VP and Associate Director in responding to inquiries from government agencies.
  • Handle initial unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
  • Deliver comprehensive HR administrative support to site management.
  • Organize and track key HR events and deadlines.
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for employee meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper documentation is submitted to the National Office.
  • Assist payroll with the processing of benefit premium reimbursements for employees on leave.
  • Continuously assess and recommend improvements for HR processes.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards in all HR matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field; or equivalent experience in HR management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, with a preference for candidates with extensive HR management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance and employment laws.
  • Proven ability to manage complex administrative tasks with independent judgment.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate organizational needs.
