Role Responsibilities:
The Client Accounting & Advisory Services Manager acts as the intermediary between the Partner, the client, and the professional team, overseeing complex accounting assignments. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the engagement team and managing overall client engagements.
  • Overseeing the annual budgeting process and strategic planning, while providing consulting support in related areas.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of each client's operations.
  • Developing expertise in intricate accounting functions and providing guidance.
  • Preparing and reviewing client billing histories, engagement letters, and planning for partner approval.
  • Training and supervising senior staff to ensure objectives are met efficiently, assisting in achieving these goals when necessary.
  • Reviewing workpapers and financial statements to ensure compliance with Marcum and client standards.
  • Monitoring engagement progress in relation to budgeted time and scheduled completion dates.
  • Keeping the partner informed of significant developments regarding clients and staff, presenting any major issues with detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Analyzing job overruns and discussing potential additional billing with the partner and client.
  • Offering recommendations for additional Marcum services as opportunities arise and supporting business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant, Master of Accountancy, or Master of Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a for-profit organization.
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising accounting professionals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with various accounting software programs, including but not limited to QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Yardi, and Appfolio.
