Role Responsibilities:
The Client Accounting & Advisory Services Manager acts as the key liaison among the Partner, clients, and professional staff, overseeing intricate accounting projects. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the engagement team and managing overall client engagements.
  • Overseeing the annual budgeting process and strategic planning while providing consulting support.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of each client's operations.
  • Developing expertise in complex accounting functions and providing guidance.
  • Preparing and reviewing client billing histories and engagement letters for partner approval.
  • Training and supervising senior staff to ensure objectives are met efficiently.
  • Reviewing workpapers and financial statements to meet Marcum and client standards.
  • Monitoring engagement progress in relation to budgeted time and completion dates.
  • Keeping the partner informed of significant developments regarding clients and staff.
  • Analyzing job overruns and discussing potential additional billing with the partner and clients.
  • Identifying opportunities for additional Marcum services and supporting business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Certified Public Accountant designation, Master of Accountancy, or Master of Business Administration.
  • A minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in public accounting or a for-profit organization.
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising accounting professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with various accounting software programs, including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Yardi, and Appfolio.
