Electrical Engineer - Power Electronics Specialist

Creare is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Hanover, NH. As a Power Electronics Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-power DC/DC converters and solid-state circuit breakers for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical designs for AC or DC power converters, SSCBs, and motor drives
  • Support every stage of product development, from proposal to customer support
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of electrical, software, mechanical, and thermal experts
Requirements:
  • BSEE or MSEE with at least 5-10 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 3-5 years of experience
  • Practical understanding of power converter topologies and ability to research and understand tradeoffs for various applications
  • Experience in power semiconductor selection, design of gate drive, and design of analog and digital supporting circuits
  • Experience with power converter filter design, including magnetics and capacitors
  • Understanding of semiconductor power dissipation and thermal design
  • Knowledge of circuit board design and ability to provide detailed instructions for reliable and effective layouts
  • Knowledge of control theory and ability to communicate instructions and concepts to firmware developers for robust performance
  • Ability to perform and oversee qualification and production testing, including developing and executing test procedures, reporting results, and contributing to safety reviews
