Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Dartmouth College. As a key member of our engineering office, you will be responsible for providing electrical engineering oversight of consultants' studying, designing, constructing, and commissioning new construction and renovation projects in campus buildings, utility plants, and utility distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical engineering oversight of consultants' studying, designing, constructing, and commissioning new construction and renovation projects.
  • Check designs and installations for compliance with Dartmouth College design and construction guidelines, energy performance guidelines, and relevant building codes.
  • Attend project meetings, develop consultant scopes of work, conduct design reviews, and conduct selected submittal reviews.
  • Provide technical oversight of projects to successful completion and issue work orders as needed to complete various jobs.
  • Act as liaison between FO&M and various departments requesting engineering support services campus-wide.
  • Work closely with FO&M shops on troubleshooting, providing technical insight, problem solving, and implementing solutions for maintenance and operations related projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or architectural engineering technology, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ten plus years of supervised electrical design and drafting with an MEP consulting firm, or the equivalent.
  • Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in New Hampshire, or the ability to become registered in New Hampshire within one year.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of low voltage (480 V or less) electrical design, including calculations and field experience.
  • Experience with fire alarm and network communications systems a plus.
  • Experience with higher voltage (4160 V to 13.2 kV) systems a plus.
  • Experience with energy efficient lighting and electrical system design and control strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems associated with the operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High level of proficiency with AutoCAD drafting software. Proficiency with 3D drafting software such as Revit is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail oriented self-starter with good interpersonal and decision making skills.
  • Ability to relate well with a diverse group of constituents and to build strong relationships within and among those groups.
  • Strong service orientation and a demonstrated desire to continually improve the service and operations of an organization.
