Job Overview

The position entails overseeing the development, execution, and assessment of safety initiatives to guarantee adherence to environmental laws and occupational health and safety standards. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager role necessitates expertise in EH&S and Compliance, along with a comprehensive understanding of Operations to effectively manage the processing and flow of materials within recycling facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine site evaluations to pinpoint potential risks and confirm compliance with EPA standards.
  • Establish and enforce safety protocols to foster a secure workplace.
  • Examine incidents to identify root causes and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Deliver training on safety procedures, emergency response, CPR, and first aid.
  • Oversee and assess Operations, including materials management and vendor oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with R2 standards related to electronics waste recycling and conduct annual audits for adherence.
  • Maintain compliance with recycling permits and hazardous waste transporter permits, collaborating with regulatory bodies for renewals.
  • Contribute to the creation of training programs focused on environmental health and safety.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a background in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in conducting root cause analysis for incidents.
  • Capability to generate reports on safety metrics and compliance data.
  • Strong operational competencies.
