This position requires collaboration with various departments to foster a safety-oriented and environmentally conscious workplace, with the goal of reducing risks and ecological footprint.

Core Responsibilities:

Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure alignment with OSHA, EPA, and other pertinent regulations.
  • Maintain and refresh all necessary EHS documentation and records.
  • Compile and submit regulatory documentation as mandated.

Safety Initiatives:

  • Design, implement, and oversee safety initiatives and policies.
  • Conduct routine safety evaluations and inspections.
  • Examine and document incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and formulate corrective measures.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness planning and simulations.

Environmental Initiatives:

  • Administer and oversee waste management, recycling, and pollution reduction programs.
  • Conduct assessments and audits of environmental impacts.
  • Manage hazardous substances, ensuring appropriate storage, handling, and disposal.

Training and Development:

  • Create and deliver EHS training sessions for staff.
  • Ensure comprehensive training for all employees on EHS policies and procedures.
  • Encourage a safety-first culture through ongoing education and awareness initiatives.

Risk Evaluation:

  • Conduct risk evaluations and identify potential hazards.
  • Formulate and implement strategies for risk reduction.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure safe operational practices.

Continuous Enhancement:

  • Identify avenues for process enhancements to improve safety and environmental outcomes.
  • Engage in EHS audits and inspections conducted by regulatory bodies.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory updates.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an EHS capacity, ideally within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with EHS regulations and standards.
  • Experience with EHS management systems and software applications.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software tools.
