The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for supporting the establishment, execution, and upkeep of Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives to guarantee adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as corporate policies. This role will involve collaboration with various departments to foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, with the goal of reducing workplace risks and environmental effects.
Core Responsibilities:
Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other pertinent regulations.
- Maintain and refresh all necessary EHS documentation and records.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports.
Safety Initiatives:
- Design, implement, and oversee safety programs and policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing reports and corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct drills.
Environmental Initiatives:
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and pollution prevention programs.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits.
- Oversee hazardous materials management, ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal.
Training and Development:
- Create and deliver EHS training programs for staff.
- Ensure all personnel are trained in EHS policies and procedures.

Risk Management:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safe work practices.
Continuous Enhancement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to boost safety and environmental performance.
- Participate in EHS audits and inspections conducted by regulatory bodies.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory updates.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, ideally within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with EHS regulations and standards.
- Experience with EHS management systems and software.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software.
