Position Overview

The Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is tasked with the development, execution, and oversight of safety programs that ensure adherence to environmental regulations and occupational health standards. This role demands a robust background in EH&S and compliance, alongside a thorough understanding of operational processes related to material handling in recycling facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety policies to foster a secure working environment.
  • Investigate incidents to ascertain root causes and recommend corrective measures.
  • Facilitate training sessions on safety protocols, emergency response, CPR, and first aid.
  • Oversee operations related to materials management and vendor interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with R2 standards for electronics recycling and conduct annual audits.
  • Maintain adherence to recycling permits and hazardous waste transport regulations, coordinating with authorities for renewals.
  • Assist in crafting training programs focused on environmental health and safety.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in conducting root cause analyses for safety incidents.
  • Ability to generate reports on safety metrics and compliance performance.
  • Strong operational acumen.
