Job Summary

The Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the academic department, ensuring seamless execution of administrative tasks and providing exceptional support to faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement course scheduling and instructor assignments
  • Manage registration materials, procedures, and policies in coordination with the Office of the Registrar
  • Assist the Department Chair with developing the department budget and ensuring fiscal responsibility
  • Partner with the Office of Communication and Public Relations to maintain accurate and current departmental information
  • Collaborate with Student Services and the Registrar's Office to ensure students receive optimal support
  • Process instructor compensation and track faculty workload completion
  • Support department faculty with completing faculty workloads and ensure compliance with institutional policies and procedures
  • Work with Human Resources in the hiring, on-boarding, and contract processes of new and returning faculty
  • Support and advance the mission, vision, and values of Higheredmilitary
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of administrative or higher education experience
  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree or graduate coursework is preferred)
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and human relations skills
  • Thrives in a team-oriented environment that emphasizes collaboration and personal accountability
  • Proactive and detail-oriented
  • Evidence of compatibility with the Higheredmilitary mission
