Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at RWS Group. This role is focused on driving growth for our patent research and litigation services by identifying and selling to both new and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to drive sales for our patent research and litigation services.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with law firms, corporations, and other key stakeholders in the intellectual property space.
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services.
- Lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, including crafting proposals, negotiating contracts, and securing new deals.
- Collaborate with internal teams across RWS to ensure that the services offered through our platform meet client expectations and industry demands.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify opportunities for RWS to remain a market leader in patent research and litigation support.
- Participate in industry events, webinars, and conferences to increase brand visibility and network with potential clients.
- Deliver regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and progress updates to senior management.
- Provide feedback from clients to the product development team to help enhance our platform and improve service offerings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field. An advanced degree in IP law, engineering, or a technical discipline is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the intellectual property, legal services, or patent research industry.
- Strong understanding of patent research, prosecution, litigation, and IP management processes.
- Demonstrated success in selling complex services to corporate clients and law firms, with a proven ability to close large deals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a track record of managing client accounts and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems (such as Salesforce) and sales management tools.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to travel to client meetings and industry events as needed.
