Schedule Requirements:
Flexibility to work various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business needs. California's Great America is seeking an Area Supervisor for Entertainment Technology who will report directly to the Park Operations Manager.

Role Summary:
The Area Supervisor for Entertainment Technology is chiefly responsible for overseeing all technical elements of the Entertainment division. This includes the development, coordination, and management of operations for Entertainment, seasonal events, special shows, and concerts.

This position will collaborate closely with various departments to create, implement, and manage show and attraction products from inception through to execution and dismantling.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between the Entertainment department and contracted production teams to ensure the successful execution of show plans.
Assist in the planning, organization, installation, and production of all lighting, sound, and technical elements for shows and events.

Support the Park Operations Manager with budgeting, planning new show and attraction concepts, creating and revising operational plans, and developing promotional materials for the department, along with other assigned tasks.

Oversee all technical aspects within California's Great America Entertainment department from the initial concept through production phases, including scenic construction, lighting, and audio management.

Coordinate the installation of new show products, attractions, and large-scale events (such as seasonal festivities, concerts, and celebrations) in collaboration with various departments and external vendors.

Manage the hiring and onboarding process, supervise seasonal staff duties, including training, assigning tasks, maintaining standards, and ensuring work accuracy and completeness.

Oversee all theatrical facilities, coordinating maintenance, improvements, and production supplies. Troubleshoot technical issues related to lighting, sound, and scenic equipment, ensuring readiness for rehearsals and performances.

Manage approximately 15-20 shows annually, 20-25 attractions, and multiple special events, while supervising technicians in the technician shop.

Control, organize, and execute operational plans for Live Entertainment and special events, monitoring to ensure adherence to budget guidelines set by the Entertainment Manager.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience required.
Strong knowledge of modern lighting and sound design equipment and tools is essential.
Hands-on technical experience in lighting, production, and decor is preferred.
Ability to create and manage budgets and expenses is necessary.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
A valid Driver's License is required.
