Key Responsibilities

The Technology Support Specialist will significantly enhance the resident experience by delivering tailored technology assistance to seniors and staff within our community. This role involves:

  • Resident Support:
    • Providing personalized technology assistance for devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs.
    • Guiding residents in setting up and troubleshooting their email, video conferencing, and social media accounts.
    • Educating residents on utilizing technology for entertainment, communication, and accessing community services.
  • Training Initiatives:
    • Designing and leading small group training sessions focused on technology topics relevant to residents.
    • Creating accessible guides and resources to empower residents in overcoming common tech challenges.
  • Device Oversight:
    • Collaborating with the IT Support Center to ensure residents' devices are updated with the latest software and security measures.
    • Assisting residents in installing and updating necessary applications and security software.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Organizing tech-focused events and workshops to promote community interaction and shared learning.
    • Staying updated on technology trends to enrich resident engagement activities.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
    • Delivering outstanding customer service by promptly addressing technology-related inquiries and concerns.
    • Maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor to create a supportive learning environment for residents.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a technology-related or business-related field is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in customer service is preferred, especially in technology support for older adults.
  • Strong proficiency with personal devices, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to varying levels of technology proficiency among residents with patience and empathy.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate resident needs and community events.
