Role Overview: Transit Customer Service Representative

Our organization is looking for individuals to serve as Transit Customer Service Representatives on an on-call basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to positively influence the community and assist the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA).

As a Transit Customer Service Representative, you will be trained to support MTA customers, particularly those with disabilities, ensuring equal access to transit facilities. Responsibilities include:
  • Guiding customers as they navigate stations, board vehicles, and utilize fare vending machines.
  • Monitoring transit station cleanliness and safety.
  • Providing customer service during bus bridges and shuttles due to construction activities.

Compensation for this position is $13.96 per hour.
Qualifications Required
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ownership of an Android-based smartphone is necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum of 4 hours).
  • Familiarity with mobile applications, particularly the Transit App, is essential for effective customer support.
  • Strong customer service skills are crucial for engaging with the public and ensuring a positive experience.
