Position Title: Advanced Behavior Support Specialist

Reporting To: Behavior Support Supervisor

Company: VanCare, Inc.

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience Required: Minimum of 6 months working with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors

Compensation: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide direct assistance to individuals facing significant behavioral challenges in their daily activities.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist individuals with essential needs such as personal hygiene (bathing, toileting, dressing), medication management, daily living activities, meal preparation, and household maintenance.
  • Support individuals during challenging and crisis situations according to their Positive Behavior Support Plan.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data collection.
  • Analyze situations to identify potential triggers and antecedents.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings and brainstorming sessions as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with individuals through consistent engagement and support in community activities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including completing required training and maintaining certifications.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and supervisors, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Complete all necessary documentation during shifts, including medication checks and communication logs.
  • Maintain current certifications (e.g., CPR/FA, NAR/C.N.A./HCA) throughout employment.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions.

Work Commitment: This is a full-time role, requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, subject to change based on the needs of VanCare, Inc. and the individuals served.

Additional Notes: Duties may be adjusted or reassigned as necessary. All staff are required to remain alert during shifts.
