Compensation Structure:
Community Support Specialist I - Bachelor's: $24.87/hour
Community Support Specialist II - Master's: $26.00 – $29.96/hour
Community Support Specialist III - Master's + LMHCA/LMFTA/LICSWA: $30.87/hour
Community Support Specialist IV - Master's + LMHC/LMFT/LICSW: $34.29/hour

Work Schedule:
Tuesday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM

Role Overview:
Community Support Specialists engage with clients experiencing mental health challenges. As integral members of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, they often serve as the primary contact for clients, facilitating and coordinating services both within and outside of CRMHS. They provide education on mental health issues, assist clients in achieving their personal goals, and promote skill development to foster independence and recovery. Specialists work in various settings, including clinics, homes, and community locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their recovery objectives, addressing various life domains such as Mental Health, Substance Use, Daily Living Activities, Education/Employment, Family Support, Financial Stability, Social Connections, Legal Matters, Medical Needs, Housing, and Cultural/Spiritual Considerations.
  • Teach and enhance living skills, coping strategies, symptom management, and interpersonal communication.
  • Coordinate care with other service providers and connect clients with legal, court, and community resources.
  • Assist clients in crisis situations and develop proactive crisis management plans.
  • Facilitate connections to community healthcare providers and support clients in attending medical and dental appointments.
  • Educate clients and their support systems about mental health and treatment options.
  • Encourage clients to pursue work, education, and social relationships, expanding their support networks.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and equitable treatment across all life areas.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and meet agency productivity standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support the agency's mission and objectives.
  • Participate in scheduled staff and planning meetings.
  • Foster effective communication and collaborative relationships within the agency and the broader community while upholding confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the social services sector, particularly with mental health or substance use issues, is preferred.
