Senior Commercial Lending Officer

Overview:
Dickinson Financial Corporation, along with its affiliated banks, is seeking skilled professionals in commercial banking to assist clients in achieving their financial objectives, contribute to economic growth in our communities, and fulfill our strategic goals. The primary responsibility of the Commercial Banker is to cultivate and expand commercial lending relationships within the designated region or specialty lending sector, while providing a range of banking products, including deposit services and treasury management solutions, to foster a relationship-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops a self-sourced portfolio of commercial loans, supplemented by leads generated by the bank. Annual origination targets and the optimal size of lending relationships will vary based on the banker’s area of expertise.
- Manages a calling program and tracks pipeline activity using Salesforce, ensuring the confidentiality of client data.
- Ensures comprehensive banking solutions for clients by connecting them with specialists in private banking, treasury management, and other relevant bank services.
- Builds strong client relationships that promote loyalty to the bank, facilitating introductions to a broad team of professionals and maintaining current client information in the CRM.
- Solicits, evaluates, structures, risk rates, and negotiates commercial loan applications.
- Collaborates effectively with other professionals—such as portfolio managers, credit analysts, and legal teams—to manage a portfolio, close loans efficiently, and provide exceptional client service.
- Focuses on enhancing the cost-effectiveness of closing and maintaining the portfolio by prioritizing sales and leveraging the expertise of colleagues.
- Mentors junior commercial banking associates through delegation and oversight of tasks.
- Maintains proficiency in Salesforce and nCino, the bank's automated loan processing platform.
- Ensures a safe and positive work environment, conducting regular inspections and adhering to compliance standards.
- Embodies and communicates the corporate vision and initiatives, including the six Pillars of Success.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of client information.
- Completes additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Regular attendance is required at the designated worksite during standard business hours.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is required; an MBA or related graduate degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in relationship-based business development.
- A minimum of five years of experience in commercial lending or portfolio management.
- Strong skills in credit analysis.
- Proficient in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office, and experienced with Salesforce and nCino.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and client-focused with excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information effectively.
- Willingness to adopt a collaborative approach to client relationships, ensuring that all associates contribute their best value.
Physical Requirements:
The work environment is typical of an office or retail banking setting, requiring the ability to perform tasks such as reaching, typing, and communicating effectively. Occasional lifting of up to ten pounds may be necessary. The position involves moving within the workspace and may require travel to client locations or events.
