Position Overview:

Dickinson Financial Corporation, along with its affiliated institutions, is seeking seasoned professionals in commercial banking to assist clients in achieving their financial aspirations, fostering economic growth within our communities, and fulfilling our strategic objectives. The primary responsibility of the Commercial Banker is to cultivate and expand commercial lending partnerships within the designated territory or specialized lending division, which includes providing banking solutions such as deposit accounts and treasury management services to enhance a relationship-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a self-sourced portfolio of commercial loans, supplemented by leads generated by the bank. Specific annual origination goals, ideal relationship sizes, and overall portfolio expectations will be tailored to each banker based on their expertise and assignments.
  • Oversee a structured calling program and maintain pipeline reports utilizing Salesforce, ensuring client data is treated as proprietary information.
  • Ensure comprehensive banking solutions for clients by connecting them with our specialists in private banking, treasury management, deposit services, and other relevant banking products.
  • Build and nurture client relationships that foster loyalty to the bank, involving introductions to a broad team of professionals and maintaining current client information within the CRM system.
  • Solicit, evaluate, structure, assess risk, present for approval, and negotiate commercial loan applications.
  • Collaborate effectively with other professionals—such as portfolio managers, credit analysts, and legal teams—to manage a portfolio, close loans efficiently, deliver exceptional client service, and mentor junior associates in commercial banking and credit.
  • Continuously seek improvements in the cost of closing and maintaining the portfolio by focusing on sales and leveraging the skills of other professionals.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced banking associates through delegation and oversight of tasks.
  • Maintain proficiency in Salesforce and nCino, the bank's automated loan processing platform.
  • Ensure a safe and welcoming work environment that reflects positively on the bank, including regular inspections and adherence to all compliance requirements.
  • Embody and communicate the corporate vision and initiatives, including the six Pillars of Success.
  • Safeguard client information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required, working at the designated worksite or assigned remote location during standard business hours.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is required; an MBA or related graduate degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-based business development.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in commercial lending or portfolio management.
  • Strong skills in credit analysis.
  • Proficient in standard software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, and experienced with Salesforce and nCino or similar CRM and loan origination systems.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and client-focused with excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative approach to client relationships, ensuring all associates provide maximum value.

Physical Requirements:

The work environment is typical of an office or retail banking setting, requiring the ability to perform tasks such as reaching, manipulating office equipment, and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues. The role may involve occasional lifting and moving about the workspace, including travel to client locations and community events.
