Officers in this role are expected to manage a portfolio exceeding $50 million. The Senior Commercial Banking Officer typically operates in metropolitan areas with populations greater than 500,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically engage with large, complex commercial clients, acting as a trusted advisor to identify opportunities and mitigate risks while assisting them in achieving their objectives through the Bank's offerings.
  • Negotiate and establish terms for commercial credit, considering cost, risk, and profitability, while determining the method, schedule, and collateral requirements.
  • Analyze intricate financial data to assess a borrower's creditworthiness, presenting well-founded recommendations to the loan committee and demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the credits involved.
  • Oversee the profitability of all commercial relationships within the assigned portfolio.
  • Manage the portfolio effectively, which may involve overseeing borrowing base and construction draw processes.
  • Monitor loan repayment activities, manage past due accounts, and address credit and collateral deficiencies.
  • Ensure adherence to loan policies and procedures, maintaining thoroughly documented files to facilitate satisfactory internal and external audits.
  • Proactively cross-sell additional bank products, including commercial offerings, treasury management, employee benefits, and wealth management services to strengthen banking relationships.
  • Engage actively in the community through participation in business organizations, community events, and non-profit initiatives to enhance the Bank's reputation.
  • Achieve individual performance goals while contributing to a collaborative team environment to meet departmental and organizational objectives. Set and accomplish ambitious goals independently while fostering a positive team atmosphere.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to this position, including completing necessary compliance training.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Computer Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with lending software is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • NMLS certification is mandatory.
