The Field Service Technical Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction across all business levels by delivering on-site and remote troubleshooting, repairs, equipment modifications, installations, and sales support for various mobile power generation systems and heaters.

This position is vital for providing essential equipment support and service.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Northeast region and will oversee the Northeast Territory extending into Quebec.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical assistance, setup, and support to customers, enhancing company visibility at national and regional trade exhibitions.
  • Aid in site certification, operational procedures, and EPA compliance testing.
  • Contribute to the creation and dissemination of service and parts bulletins to inform customers of product updates or concerns.
  • Support sales teams and representatives with training on new customer products.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers' branch, district, and regional sales and service managers.
  • Coordinate customer interactions with regional sales managers to meet the needs of all clients in the territories.
  • Provide sales assistance by helping customers select the appropriate equipment for their requirements.
  • Offer technical insights and design suggestions to engineering during the introduction of new products and enhancements to existing ones.
  • Relay field feedback to Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical Support regarding competitor offerings.
  • Submit weekly reports to management detailing accounts visited, training sessions conducted, product issues, potential sales leads, and competitor insights.
  • Collaborate with Service Training and Technical Publications to ensure manual content accuracy and relevance.
  • Assess Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to identify the need for new service components.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Travel requirements may reach up to 80%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience and comprehensive knowledge of power generation, including light towers, pumps, and heating products.
  • Background in electrical, mechanical, or mobile products.
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of engine maintenance and troubleshooting for natural gas fuel systems.
  • Proficient in mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities, capable of making independent decisions and working with minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge of spark ignition systems.
