SUPERVISOR: Community Outreach and Engagement Program Manager

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION: $21.00-$22.00/hr

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Outreach and Engagement Support Worker will be an integral part of the Outreach team, stationed at the Access Center. This role focuses on delivering essential services to individuals facing homelessness while actively participating in outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of direct service methodologies for vulnerable populations, particularly those involving trauma-informed care. Experience with transitional aged youth in similar circumstances is highly valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute engagement activities, including off-site events and documentation days.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of all necessary forms, case records, and statistical reports to the Director of Empowerment Programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and track data within organizational databases.
  • Engage in collaborative meetings with partner agencies and community stakeholders as required.
  • Foster strong relationships with local service providers, outreach personnel, and case management teams.
  • Serve as the primary contact for new youth clients visiting the drop-in center.
  • Guarantee a safe and secure environment for youth, staff, and volunteers.
  • Implement harm-reduction and trauma-informed practices in all interactions with youth.
  • Assist with on-site programming and drop-in services as necessary.
  • Manage conflict situations and provide crisis intervention support.
  • Be available for evening and weekend shifts as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to further the mission of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in providing direct services to at-risk youth, including advocacy and counseling, is required.
  • Proficient in advanced computer skills, including word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven capability to manage conflict and crisis situations using effective mediation techniques.
  • Familiarity with social service resources available for youth facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a multicultural setting.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Adaptability to varying environments, including office and outdoor settings.
  • Occasional physical demands, such as lifting up to 15-20 pounds.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The individual in this role is classified as a 'mandated reporter' under applicable child protection laws and must adhere to all reporting requirements as a condition of employment.
