Department Overview:
The Marine Science Institute is recognized globally for its contributions to marine and environmental research. Our team is dedicated to advancing knowledge in marine science and policy through innovative research initiatives.

Position Summary:
This role is integral to the financial management of the Institute, overseeing a substantial budget that supports numerous research projects. The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in financial analysis and accounting to ensure effective management of budgetary resources, procurement processes, and facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Budget Oversight:** Manage and analyze the Institute's budget, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
2. **Procurement Management:** Collaborate with the Financial Manager to supervise procurement activities, providing guidance on complex purchasing agreements.
3. **Financial Reporting:** Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts, assisting principal investigators in managing their funding effectively.
4. **Operational Support:** Work with senior management to enhance operational efficiency and support the Institute's mission.

Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of financial management processes and reporting systems.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a focus on service orientation and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
