Position Overview:

In collaboration with the Emergency Manager, the Continuity Planning Analyst plays a crucial role within the Emergency Operations Team. This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, encompassing risk evaluations, business impact assessments, and the documentation of continuity and recovery protocols. The Analyst assesses the implications and risks associated with vital business operations, including information technology systems and vendor supply chain vulnerabilities, to determine resource needs and advocate for strategies that lead to acceptable recovery options. Additionally, this role supports the Emergency Manager in overseeing the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and collaborates with departmental staff to ensure effective service delivery to the campus community. Acts as the liaison for Environmental Health and Safety with departmental safety representatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated political acumen and strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders within higher education.
  • Understanding of the organizational culture and administrative practices prevalent in higher education.
  • Exceptional presentation skills to deliver compelling and effective presentations to both large and small groups.
  • Ability to convey competence and credibility in all professional interactions, particularly with faculty regarding teaching and research matters.
  • Strong active listening abilities, along with team leadership and group facilitation skills.
  • Proficient project management capabilities.
  • Process analysis expertise: Ability to evaluate how processes should function and how variations in conditions, operations, and environments influence outcomes.
  • Problem-solving proficiency: Strong aptitude for identifying complex issues and synthesizing relevant information to develop and assess options, leading to sound proposals.
  • Collaborative mindset to devise innovative solutions and improve operational practices.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with database structures and query tools.
  • Ability to handle sensitive interactions with discretion, even in complex or unfamiliar situations.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and the use of discretion in all matters.
Special Employment Conditions:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Availability for occasional night and weekend emergency responses.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Salary Information:
Salary range: $85,000-$92,000/year.

Full Salary Range: $74,300-$134,500/year.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Benefits: Full benefits package available.
