JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary/Objective

The Vice President of Transit Operations is accountable for formulating the comprehensive strategy for the Transit Business Unit, aimed at enhancing growth and profitability while overseeing daily leadership and management functions.

This role encompasses the execution of profitable short- and long-term initiatives and processes to streamline operations, scrutinizing and endorsing plans to manage budget allocations, labor efficiency, material utilization, technological advancements, and customer service effectiveness.


Essential Functions
  • Oversee the Profit and Loss for the Transit Business Unit.
  • Craft and execute strategies for markets, products, and services aligned with the mission of the Transit Business Unit.
  • Boost market share and profitability through detailed analysis and target establishment.
  • Identify and cultivate joint venture, licensing, and partnership opportunities.
  • Develop evaluation tools to measure and enhance the performance of the sales team.
  • Engage in the development and management of Transit Business Unit teams.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the current sales team and organizational framework.
  • Guide the Sales organization in the establishment of an efficient organizational structure.
  • Lead the Sales & Systems engineering division in the execution of applications engineering proposals and solutions.
  • Foster relationships and engage in board and group-level activities with relevant industry regulatory entities.
  • Manage governmental relations concerning all product, service, and customer-related matters.
  • Enhance customer relationships with Transit-car and locomotive manufacturers, railroads, fleet owners, and operators.
  • Negotiate and finalize business agreements with key clients and partners.
  • Support international KB affiliates to optimize sales growth within the Transit Business Unit.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and models to facilitate the planning process.
  • Comprehend and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Adhere to all pertinent statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).
