Residential Support Specialist

Are you seeking a fulfilling career where you can positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities? We are excited to present a rewarding opportunity as a part-time Residential Support Specialist (RSS) within our Community Living Department. Our mission is to foster inclusive and nurturing residential settings that empower individuals to reach their fullest potential.

Compensation: $17.85/hour plus an additional $2.00 per hour for weekend shifts.

Your Role as an RSS: In this position, you will assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their journey towards a meaningful life. Working collaboratively within a small residential team, you will help residents with essential life skills and household activities, including meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light cleaning. Additionally, you will provide personal care support, manage medication administration, and offer transportation as necessary.

Work Schedule: We are currently interviewing candidates for various shifts throughout the week and on weekends.

Available Shifts: We have openings for weekend shifts (mornings, afternoons, and evenings) as well as late afternoon/evening shifts from Monday to Friday (starting at 3 PM). Please note that there are no awake overnight shifts available at this time.

Location: Work will take place in a welcoming residential environment.

Qualifications for RSS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer and typing skills.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other required training as mandated.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift and manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently, with the ability to exert force exceeding 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to endure prolonged periods of standing and engage in frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing, including lifting and repositioning individuals.
  • Ability to assist individuals in transferring from chairs to vehicles and vice versa, as well as securing individuals in wheelchairs during transportation.
