Job Summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our Optometry & Optical Services team. This is a full-time opportunity with a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with the option to work remotely 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Communication: Provide exceptional customer service, relay medical questions from patients to providers, and document patient communication in medical records.
  • Scheduling: Answer high-volume patient calls, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate scheduling records.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle faxes, process incoming patient referrals, and manage mail and RX refills.
  • Problem-Solving: Escalate patient concerns to the Practice Manager/Supervisor and respond to patient messages.
Requirements
  • At least one year of customer service and healthcare experience (three years for Patient Care Coordinator III)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience using electronic medical records, specifically Epic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
