Job Summary

Harbor Health Services is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to provide high-quality mental health services to patients in a primary care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct psychotherapy services to patients, including intakes, evaluations, and therapy sessions.
  • Assist the Behavioral Health Director in clinical functions, such as developing policies and procedures, collecting data, and creating reports.
  • Participate in extended primary care teams and treatment teams to address behavioral issues with patients.
  • Obtain insurance authorization for patients and track visits and re-authorizations as needed.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, quarterly treatment updates, and discharge summaries for patients.
  • Coordinate behavioral health treatment with psychiatry and primary care providers, including integrated Behavioral Health services.
  • Perform collateral case work for patients, such as completing disability forms and consulting with other providers.
  • Facilitate trainings, case conferences, and conduct Utilization Review.
  • Provide clinical supervision for behavioral health staff and/or interns as directed by the Behavioral Health Director.
Requirements
  • Current MA LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker), LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Worker), or LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline
  • 2 years of experience providing therapy in individual, family, and/or group modalities preferred, based on licensure
  • Current Massachusetts LADC1 preferred
  • One year of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment preferred
