Role Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant/Financial Generalist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precise financial reports and invoices, overseeing contract renewals, and managing payroll processes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service and mathematical skills, coupled with a strong sense of urgency. Additionally, outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities are essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly accrual basis income statements.
  • Manage accounts receivable for a diverse client base.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for a significant number of employees.
  • Generate certified payrolls for multiple accounts.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and loan statements.
  • Ensure timely payroll tax remittances across various states.
  • Handle accounts payable entries and remittances for numerous vendors.
  • Administer monthly union benefits remittances.
  • Maintain collection records and assist in recovering overdue payments.
  • Create and uphold accurate job budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping and customer service.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; experience in a union environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks).
  • Strong analytical and professional communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines for projects and reports.
  • Possess a proactive attitude with a drive for success.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
