Key Responsibilities:

Financial Services Oversight:
Responsible for delivering comprehensive financial services across educational, research, and clinical domains. This role involves addressing financial and operational concerns by escalating them to senior management as necessary.

Collaborates with leadership to formulate financial strategies for the unit, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting of financial data. Monitors resource utilization and recommends adjustments to optimize financial performance. Authorizes daily financial transactions in compliance with established policies and responds to inquiries from senior leadership regarding financial matters.


Risk Management and Compliance:
Establishes and upholds robust internal control measures to ensure effective resource utilization and accurate financial reporting.

Provides assurance that all operations adhere to contractual obligations, policies, and regulatory requirements. Proactively identifies and addresses potential risks to safeguard the institution's assets and reputation.

Ensures that all personnel are well-informed about relevant regulations and policies that affect their responsibilities.

University Engagement:
Acts as a liaison between the unit and the broader University community, fostering communication and alignment of priorities. Implements initiatives that support the University’s strategic objectives and represents the unit's needs at higher administrative levels.

Talent Development:
Focuses on attracting, retaining, and nurturing high-caliber talent within the unit.

Works closely with HR and leadership in the areas of recruitment, performance management, and career development, while addressing employee relations in accordance with institutional guidelines.

Collaborates with leadership to assess future talent requirements for the unit.

Strategic Resource Management:

Contributes to the development of the unit's financial and operational strategies in partnership with senior leadership. Translates strategic goals into actionable plans and evaluates resource allocation to ensure alignment with unit objectives.


Essential Qualifications:
A strong background in finance with expertise in financial reporting and internal control practices. Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and a proven ability to assess risks and develop effective strategies.
Experience in project management, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage team deliverables.

Excellent communication skills and professionalism in all interactions, with the capability to collaborate across various levels of leadership.

Proven track record in policy and procedure development, along with training and presentation skills. Management experience is preferred, particularly in auditing or internal controls.

Preferred Education:
A Bachelor's degree is required, along with a minimum of five years of financial experience, including at least two years in a management role.
