Geotechnical Project Manager

This role focuses on overseeing a variety of geotechnical initiatives for private land development clients, encompassing planning, design, and management for industrial, commercial, and residential undertakings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients to ascertain site specifications and offer expert advice on geotechnical assessments, slope design, foundation engineering, and related areas.
  • Establish project objectives and contribute to meeting quality assurance targets.
  • Supervise daily operational functions for Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) projects.
  • Collaborate with project team members to facilitate project advancement and completion.
  • Manage project finances, including budget oversight, profitability evaluation, and billing procedures.
  • Conduct project meetings and assess results.
  • Prepare billing documentation for clients and oversee accounts receivable processes.
  • Identify potential project scopes and revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Engage in business development initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor team members while fostering strong client partnerships.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Possession of a Michigan P.E. License or eligibility to obtain one.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management.
  • At least 10 years of geotechnical experience in site development.
  • Familiarity with Michigan's codes, regulations, and standards.

  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Self-driven with the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Solid problem-solving and financial management skills.

Physical Requirements: This position necessitates some outdoor activities alongside office responsibilities. Hand-eye coordination and occasional lifting may be required.
