Geotechnical Project Manager

This role entails overseeing a variety of geotechnical initiatives for private land development clients, focusing on the planning, design, and management of projects across industrial, commercial, and residential sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients to ascertain site specifications and offer expert advice on geotechnical assessments, slope design, foundation engineering, and additional services.
  • Establish project objectives and contribute to meeting quality assurance targets.
  • Direct daily operational functions for Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) projects.
  • Collaborate with project team members to facilitate project advancement and completion.
  • Manage project financials, including budget oversight, profitability evaluations, and billing processes.
  • Conduct project meetings and assess project outcomes.
  • Prepare billing documentation for clients and oversee accounts receivable management.
  • Identify potential project scopes and revenue growth opportunities.
  • Engage in business development initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor team members while fostering robust client relationships.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Possession of a Michigan Professional Engineer (P.E.) License or eligibility to obtain one.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management.
  • At least 10 years of geotechnical experience in site development.
  • Familiarity with Michigan's codes, regulations, and standards.

Physical Requirements: This position necessitates some outdoor work alongside office responsibilities. Good hand-eye coordination and occasional lifting may be required.
