About Our Houston Campus

Our modern campus, located north of Houston, serves as the hub for our Upstream, Product Solutions, and Low Carbon Solutions divisions, along with their respective service teams. Opened in 2014, this facility accommodates over 10,000 employees and visitors.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • As a Senior Trade Compliance Advisor, you will be an integral part of the Leadership Team, spearheading the transformation of our compliance program and organizational structure to facilitate the successful implementation of SAP GTS.
  • You will oversee the creation, execution, and management of the strategic trade compliance roadmap, collaborating closely with the Global Trade Compliance Leadership Team and various business units.
  • In partnership with the Global Trade Compliance Manager, you will identify and drive transformational initiatives across import/export classification, valuation, customs compliance, and preferential trade, leveraging industry best practices.
  • Your role will also involve recognizing and operationalizing value generation opportunities through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs), duty drawback, and other regional trade programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design future state processes grounded in industry best practices, organizational footprint, and risk assessment, utilizing SAP GTS as the enabling technology.
  • Align organizational structures and define roles and responsibilities to ensure efficient and risk-appropriate execution of future processes.
  • Identify additional technology requirements to achieve desired outcomes and enhance automation over manual processes.
  • Provide comprehensive oversight for the project management of executing the strategic roadmap.
  • Redefine key performance indicators and establish necessary data and analytics requirements.
  • Analyze global trade data to uncover further opportunities for value generation and savings through trade programs, FTAs, FTZs, and duty drawback.
  • Collaborate with the Global Trade Compliance Leadership Team to ensure oversight and governance of strategic initiatives.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the SAP GTS project team, advising on implementation impacts and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A Master's degree or equivalent education.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Trade Compliance Leadership, with practical knowledge of SAP GTS.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing Trade Compliance processes, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Expertise in Classification (HTS & ECCN), Country of Origin, Valuation, Customs Declarations (U.S. & Global), and Preferential Trade.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of customs compliance, regulations, and applicable laws on a global scale.
  • At least 5 years of experience with preferential trade (FTAs, FTZs, duty drawback), with Oil & Gas experience being advantageous.
  • Experience in integrating Trade Compliance processes across Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, and Procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformation and process enhancements.
  • Experience engaging with Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders, including oversight and Key Performance Indicators.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customs Broker license is a plus.
  • Recognized expertise in Customs Regulations, Import/Export Operations, and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with speed and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a strong sense of ownership for deliverables and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of management and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse and matrixed organization.
